Sean Newman’s series ‘Lapsed’ crystallizes memories, freezing moments in time. Absent of conventional tools, such as the use of a camera, his black and white images reflect naturalistic positive and negative forces, male and female, yin and yang. These images were inspired by recent experiences in which he contemplates the notion of life and death. He ultimately aspires to cease natural time progression by capturing ‘camera-less’ images and digitizing these to print, thus creating the immortal memory.
